Roulette
The object of Roulette is to make an attempt to predict on
which number the metal ball will land after being spun clockwise around a spinning wheel.
Rules:
The Roulette table is setup with
number/color arrangement to show the corresponding slots on the wheel. The Roulette wheel has 36 slots and two
extra slots showing a 0 and 00. The 36 slots are placed into an arrangement so that the even, odd, high and low
numbers, the red, black, and two green slots (0 and 00) are evenly distributed around the wheel.
In order to begin gameplay, the dealer will
spin the wheel in the counterclockwise direction while spinning the ball in the clockwise direction. When the ball
beings to slow down, it will bounce between the slots and finally coming to rest in 1 slot, this slot marking the
winning number.
Odds:
Most casinos have a minimum amount, which
has to be placed with each bet. For example, a minimum bet of $10 would mean that a wager of $10 must be placed on
the outside of the table on the spots marking red or black and even or odd or spread the $10 wager on any number
inside the table.
There are a few betting options that a
player has when playing Roulette. A Straight-up bet indicates that the entire bet is placed on a single number. The
payoff for this type of wager is 35 to 1. Any number, including 0 and 00, can be played. A split bet indicates that
a wager is to be split between two numbers on the table. The payoff for this type of wager is 17 to 1. A street bet
indicates that the chip is placed on the edge of a row and covers three numbers. The payoff for this type of wager
is 11 to 1. A corner bet indicates that the chip is placed on the interceding lines between four numbers and covers
all four. The payoff for this type of wager is 8 to 1. And the final type of bet is a Red or Black bet. This type
of wager indicates an outside bet where the player is betting that the ball lands on either red or black. The
payoff for this type of wager is 1 to 1.
